TECHMEETUPS.CW grew from 220 attendees and one speaker in 2018 to more than 1,300 attendees and 35-plus speakers the very next year.

TECHMEETUPS.CW: the Caribbean’s award-winning tech & AI conference.
Founded in summer 2018 as a grassroots initiative for a durable Caribbean tech ecosystem. Officially recognized as a national event since 2019, with the Central Bank of Curaçao as flagship venue every year since.
Attendance grew from 220 people and one speaker in 2018 to 1,311 attendees and 35+ speakers in 2019. The 2024 edition ran eight days across seven venues with 24+ speakers, and the 2025 edition was officially named Curaçao’s Leading and Award-Winning Tech and AI Conference.
Sub-platforms carry the same energy into specific rooms: #WomenInTech (57% female attendance, 50% female speakers), Kids Tech Days, Youth Masterclasses, Business & Bitcoin Villa, Tech Bo Wela for the intergenerational crowd, Future of Aviation at Hato Jet Center, and the Tekiamentu Podcast.
2026 brings the BUILD & PRESENT Edition, a focused two-day special: BUILD on 1 September at Blue Naps, the island’s Tier-4 data center, and PRESENT on 2 September at the Central Bank of Curaçao. 2027 returns to the full eight-day format as the Agentic Enterprises Edition, centered on autonomous, intelligent technology systems.
Institutional partners include the Central Bank of Curaçao, the Ministry of Economic Development, Algemeen Pensioenfonds van Curaçao (APC), Sentoo, Blyce, Blue Naps, Mensing Caminada, and the Curaçao Jet Center at Hato Airport.

Adric Walter is a visionary entrepreneur and Azure cloud architect with more than 28 years of experience building digital systems. He started programming at age eleven and later graduated in Computer Science with a specialization in business software engineering. He founded WALTERIONS in February 2021, a boutique consultancy delivering Azure architecture for FinTech, enterprise, and government clients including Rabobank, PGGM, ASR, Vesting Finance, Siemens, Schiphol Airport, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Dutch Ministry of Internal Affairs and Kingdom Relations.
In 2018 he founded Curaçao Tech Meetups (TECHMEETUPS.CW), growing it from 220 attendees and one speaker in its inaugural year to 1,311 attendees and 35+ speakers the next. Spinoff initiatives include #WomenInTech, the Curaçao 3D Printing Taskforce, and Kids Tech Saturday.
He co-authored the book UpTurn 2 (2020) and graduated from T. Harv Eker’s Quantum Leap Enlightened Warrior program. He speaks internationally, with appearances in Berlin, Kyiv, Moscow, and Reykjavik, and works in Papiamentu, Dutch, English, and Spanish. He leads AW Ventures with seven active ventures, including MAGISTA.ai, BLYNSE.ai, KadushiBot.io, and TICKETS.CW.
